A soft hyaluronic acid gel - a sugar your body already makes - placed with a fine needle or cannula into and around the lips. It adds gentle volume, definition and hydration, shaped to balance the rest of your face.
It's a medical treatment, so it always starts with a face to face consultation before anything is placed.

Your visit
Numbed first,
then shaped slowly.
Plan on around 45 minutes. We numb first, then build your shape gradually - checking with you in the mirror as we go.

We chat first
Your practitioner assesses your lip shape, symmetry and proportions, talks through what's realistic, and agrees the look with you before starting - no template, no pressure.

Comfort first
We apply a topical numbing cream and leave it to work. The filler itself also contains a local anaesthetic, so the treatment stays comfortable throughout.

The treatment
Small amounts of gel are placed with a fine needle or cannula, built up gradually. You'll feel some pressure and the odd sharp scratch, but it's over in minutes.

Downtime
Expect swelling straight away, and sometimes a little bruising or tenderness. Most people are back to normal life the same day - just keep the first evening low-key.

Your lips look fuller straight away - but they'll be swollen at first. The true result shows once everything has settled.

Straight after
Lips look fuller immediately, but also swollen, tender and sometimes a little uneven. Completely normal - don't judge the shape yet.

First 2-3 days
Swelling usually peaks in the first 24-48 hours, then eases. Some bruising is possible. A cool compress and staying hydrated both help.

Around 2 weeks
The swelling has settled and your lips have taken their final shape. This is when we review and, if needed, fine-tune with a small top-up.

6-12 months
The hyaluronic acid gradually breaks down and softens. When you're ready to maintain your result, a top-up keeps things looking fresh.
Everyone heals differently - how much you swell or bruise, and how long results last, will be discussed honestly at your consultation.

Do
- ✓ Sip water and stay well hydrated
- ✓ Use a clean, cool compress gently to ease swelling
- ✓ Keep lips clean and makeup-free for the first 24 hours
- ✓ Sleep slightly propped up on the first night
Avoid
- × Touching, pressing or massaging your lips unless we've shown you how
- × Strenuous exercise, hot baths, saunas and steam for 24-48 hours
- × Alcohol for 24 hours - it worsens swelling and bruising
- × Flights, dental work and lip products for a few days, as advised

Will my lips look natural or overdone?
That's entirely down to how much is placed and where - and natural is our default. We build up gradually, often over more than one visit, so you can see the shape develop and stop wherever feels right for you. If you'd prefer a subtle enhancement rather than a dramatic change, that's exactly what we're here for.
Does it hurt?
The lips are a sensitive area, but we numb them with a topical cream first, and the filler itself contains a local anaesthetic. Most people describe it as pressure with the occasional sharp scratch rather than real pain. Any tenderness afterwards usually settles within a day or two.
How long does it last, and can it be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid lip filler typically lasts around 6-12 months, depending on the product used and how quickly your body breaks it down. One of its real advantages is that it can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you're ever unhappy or in the rare event of a complication - we'll always talk you through this at your consultation.
