The honest bit

What it is, and
who it's for.

Straight talk before a single needle appears. If it's not right for you, we'll say so - and point you somewhere better.

What it is

A series of tiny micro-injections of stabilised hyaluronic acid, placed just beneath the skin's surface. Unlike filler, they don't add shape or volume - they hydrate from within, improving the skin's quality, smoothness and glow.

It's a medical treatment, so it always starts with a face to face consultation and a proper skin assessment.

Good for you if
  • Your skin feels dry, dull, tired or crepey
  • You want healthier, more hydrated-looking skin - not volume
  • Fine lines from dehydration bother you
  • You're happy to commit to a short course and occasional top-ups
Not for you if
  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have an active skin infection or breakout in the area
  • You want to add volume or change your face shape - that's filler
  • You have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid products

Your visit

Tiny injections,
a big drink of water.

The appointment is around 30 minutes. The injections themselves take just a few minutes - a grid of tiny points across the treated area.

  1. We chat first

Your practitioner assesses your skin, talks through what's realistic, and agrees which areas to treat and how many sessions your skin is likely to need.

  2. The treatment

A series of small injections placed just under the skin with a very fine needle. Most people describe each as a quick pinch. Numbing cream can be applied first if you'd like it.

  3. How it feels after

Expect small raised bumps at each injection point - these usually settle within a few hours to a day. Occasional mild redness, tenderness or a tiny bruise is normal.

  4. Downtime? Minimal

Most people go straight back to their day. Just avoid makeup over the points for around 12 hours, and skip the gym, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours.

Results

What to expect,
when.

Skin boosters work gradually and are done as a course - the hydration and glow build session by session, not overnight.

  1. The first day or two

Small injection bumps settle and any redness fades. Nothing dramatic to see yet - the hydration is working beneath the surface.

  2. The initial course

Most people have a short course - typically around 2 to 3 sessions spaced roughly 4 weeks apart - so the effect builds and holds.

  3. A few weeks in

As the hyaluronic acid draws in and holds moisture, skin tends to look more hydrated, smoother and healthier, with a softer glow.

  4. Longer term

Results are not permanent - they typically last several months. Many people book a maintenance session around every 6 months to keep it topped up.

Results vary from person to person - your likely outcome, the number of sessions and the spacing will be assessed honestly at your consultation.

Aftercare

Keep the glow going.

Simple rules, big difference. We'll give you the full rundown on the day - here's the short version.

Do

  • Keep the area clean and let the injection points settle
  • Drink plenty of water and keep skin well moisturised
  • Wear SPF 30+ daily on the treated area
  • Stick to gentle skincare for a few days

Avoid

  • × Makeup over the injection points for around 12 hours
  • × The gym, saunas, steam rooms and hot baths for 24-48 hours
  • × Alcohol for around 24 hours, as it can worsen bruising
  • × Facials, peels and active skincare on the area for about two weeks

Questions

Asked all
the time.

What's the difference between skin boosters and dermal filler?

Both use hyaluronic acid, but they do different jobs. Filler is placed to add volume or reshape a specific area - cheeks, lips, jawline. Skin boosters are spread as tiny micro-injections to hydrate and improve the overall quality and glow of the skin, without changing your shape. Many people have them for that fresh, well-rested look rather than a visible change.

How many sessions will I need?

Skin boosters are a course, not a one-off. Most people start with around 2 to 3 sessions spaced roughly 4 weeks apart, so the hydration builds and holds. After that, results typically last several months and many clients book a maintenance session around every 6 months. Your exact plan is agreed at consultation, based on your skin.

Does it hurt, and is there downtime?

Most people describe each injection as a quick pinch, and numbing cream can be applied first if you'd prefer. Afterwards you'll usually have small raised bumps at each point that settle within a few hours to a day, and occasionally a little redness or a small bruise. Downtime is minimal - just avoid makeup over the area for around 12 hours and skip heat and hard workouts for a day or two.
