Laser treatments
Laser tattoo removal.
Fades the ink you've outgrown, session by session.
Patch tested. Always.
The honest bit
What it is, and
who it's for.
Straight talk before a single pulse. Tattoo removal is a journey, not a quick fix - if it's not right for you, we'll say so.
Short, high-energy pulses of laser light that shatter the tattoo pigment into tiny particles. Your body then clears those particles away naturally over the weeks that follow.
The ink fades gradually across a course of sessions - it always starts with a consultation and a patch test.
- You have a tattoo you no longer want, or want lightened for a cover-up
- You understand it takes a course spread over several months
- You can commit to sessions spaced weeks apart
- You'll follow the aftercare while the skin heals between visits
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding
- The skin over the tattoo is tanned, sunburnt or broken
- You have a history of keloid scarring - we'll assess carefully
- You expect it gone in one go - that isn't how the laser works
Your visit
Slow and
steady.
Each session is short - often just minutes for a smaller tattoo - but the ink clears gradually, so you'll return over a course.
-
We chat first
We assess your tattoo - its age, ink colours, depth and where it sits - along with your skin type, then carry out a patch test to check how your skin responds.
-
The treatment
The laser is passed over the tattoo in quick pulses. Most people describe it as a hot elastic band flick against the skin. We use cooling to keep it comfortable.
-
How it feels after
Expect a frosty white layer, then redness and swelling. Blistering, tenderness and scabbing over the following days are normal parts of healing.
-
Downtime between sessions
Keep the area clean, covered and out of the sun while it heals. We space sessions several weeks apart to let your skin recover and clear the pigment.
Results
What to expect,
when.
Ink clears in stages as your body flushes away the broken-down pigment - so fading builds session by session, over months.
-
The days after each session
The area whitens, then reddens, swells and may blister or scab. As it heals over a couple of weeks, the tattoo starts to look a little lighter.
-
Between sessions
We space sessions around 6-8 weeks apart - your body needs time to clear the shattered ink and let the skin heal fully before the next pass.
-
Over the course
Professional tattoos often need around 6-10+ sessions; amateur or older ink can take fewer. Ink fades progressively rather than all at once.
-
Longer term
Some colours - greens, blues and yellows - are more stubborn than black. Full clearance can't always be guaranteed, and we'll be honest about that.
Results vary from person to person - your likely outcome, number of sessions and spacing will be assessed honestly at your consultation.

Aftercare
Help it heal well.
Good healing between sessions protects your skin and your result. We'll give you the full rundown on the day - here's the short version.
Do
- ✓ Keep the area clean, dry and covered as advised for the first few days
- ✓ Apply any recommended ointment and fresh dressing
- ✓ Wear SPF 30+ over the treated area once it has healed
- ✓ Let any blisters and scabs heal and fall away on their own
Avoid
- × Picking, scratching or popping blisters and scabs - it risks scarring
- × Sun, sunbeds and fake tan on the area, before and after sessions
- × Hot baths, saunas, swimming and hard workouts for 48-72 hours
- × Tight or rubbing clothing and harsh products over the treated skin
Questions
Asked all
the time.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the tattoo. Professional tattoos often need around 6-10 or more sessions, while amateur or older ink can clear in fewer. Ink colour, depth, size, its age and your skin all play a part - black responds best, while greens, blues and yellows are more stubborn. We'll give you an honest estimate at your consultation, but no one can promise an exact number up front.
Does it hurt?
Most people compare it to a hot elastic band flicking against the skin - sharper than laser hair removal, but each pulse is over in a fraction of a second. Bony or sensitive areas feel it more. We use cooling to keep you comfortable, and your patch test lets you feel exactly what it's like before you commit.
Will my tattoo disappear completely?
Honestly, not always. Many tattoos fade dramatically or clear fully over a course, but some ink - certain colours especially - can leave a faint shadow, and complete removal can't be guaranteed. If your goal is lightening for a cover-up, that usually needs fewer sessions. We'll set realistic expectations for your specific tattoo before we start.
